Wale may have released his previous record The Album About Nothing, which reached number one on the US Billboard 200, Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and Rap Albums charts just last year, but he already has another new album on the way. S.H.i.N.E. is due out this fall, and the rapper is sharing the first single off the record, "My PYT," and we have the world premiere of the song for you to listen to right here.

"My PYT" has a mid-tempo, upbeat song, featuring some very catchy lyrics you'll be singing along to all summer long.

Wale on his new single "My PYT"

S.H.i.N.E is Wale's fifth studio album and the follow-up to 2015's The Album About Nothing featuring Jerry Seinfeld. And if you're a Michael Jackson fan, then you have probably already made the connection to Wale's new song title. In fact, Wale tells us that he wrote "My PYT" after visiting the Jackson family, and that writing this song has been very different than any other song he's written.

"It was a whole lot of fun making the song. I've had it for quite some time. My fans have been very, very adamant about me releasing it. From a writing perspective, I challenge myself in different ways. If anybody knows anything about song writing, I structured the song differently than I've ever structured, especially a single. So, it took a lot of fearlessness for me to do that. But I wanted to challenge myself with [it] as a songwriter. I didn't write it in the conventional manner. We wrote it shortly after visiting the Jackson family. I was inspired around that time. I'm the biggest Michael Jackson fan of all time. And Marvin Gaye is the, the biggest star to ever leave my city, so I feel like I'm playing homage to both of my idols."

And if you love Wale's "My PYT," then you're in for a treat when you hear the rest of S.H.i.N.E. The rapper says, "I feel like I'm writing the best music of my career right now."
