We knew that the federal raid on Diddy's homes in L.A. and Miami was just the beginning of the story.
Predictably, his attorney Aaron Dyer says the feds overstepped -- by a mile. He released a statement saying, "Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated... his unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits." (Hollywood Reporter)
NBC News says guns were found at both homes. There's no word on what type of guns, who they belonged to or whether they were legally registered.
Late Monday, when federal agents intercepted the mogul's jet in Miami, they made an arrest. Diddy's alleged drug mule, Brendan Paul, was picked up on two drug charges -- possession of cocaine and of marijuana candy, both felonies in Florida. As of now, these drugs aren't linked to Diddy. But Rodney Jones -- who is suing him for alleged sexual assault -- names Paul as a close confidant of the mogul and the guy who handles his guns and drugs. (TMZ)
Meanwhile, Page Six has learned that Prince Harry is named in Rodney Jones's lawsuit. But the gossip site makes clear that Harry is not a defendant or accused of anything criminal. Harry met Diddy back in 2007 when he performed at the "Concert for Diana" benefit in London.
In what we hope is unrelated news, Diddy has sold off his stake in Revolt TV. He stepped away from an active role in November when those sex-trafficking allegations first came to light, but now we know that he is completely out. Although the buyer is unknown, the company remains Black-owned. (TMZ)
With all the scandal flying around, an old interview that Usher had with Howard Stern has resurfaced. Eight years ago, the R&B star told Stern about living with Diddy as a teenager back in the '90s. He said, "There were very curious things taking place and I didn’t necessarily understand it." And when Stern asked if Ush would send his kids to live with Diddy, he replied, "Hell no!" Also, in 2004, Usher told Rolling Stone, "There was always girls around. You’d open a door and see somebody doing it, or several people in a room having an orgy. You never knew what was going to happen." (Independent)
And lastly, TMZ claims to have sources saying that Diddy had no idea the raid was coming -- even though he was detained on the runway of a Miami airport in a private jet.
