While some of us will be racing to every shopping district in our area to find the perfect gift for our loved ones this Christmas, it may surprise you to know that some of your favorite celebrities don't even participate in the Yuletide gaieties.
Contrary to tradition, not everyone believes in celebrating the holiday — be it for religious, cultural, spiritual purposes or otherwise — as December 25 is seen as any other day. Several musicians, entertainers, and athletes like Drake, Natalie Portman, Serena Williams, are among the many stars who will be sitting out this Xmas — and others to follow — for those reasons, exactly.

1. Serena Williams
The tennis pro was raised a Jehovah's Witness and does not celebrate religious holidays like Christmas, birthdays, or any others with customs with pagan origins.
The Scorpion rapper was born to an Ashkenazi Jewish Canadian mother and commemorates Hanukkah instead of Christmas.
3. Rashida Jones
The Parks and Recreation actress — and daughter of Quincy Jones — was raised in Reform Judaism and therefore does not observe Christmas.
4. Barbra Streisand
The iconic singer-songwriter is Jewish and celebrates Hanukkah instead of the winter holiday.
5. Seth Rogan
The Superbad funnyman was born to a Jewish family and doesn't honor the December 25 holiday.
In 2001, the departed music legend became a Jehovah’s Witness, a denomination which does not observe Christmas, Easter, birthdays or other holidays.
7. Andrew Garfield
The Amazing Spider-Man entertainer identifies as Jewish and celebrates Hanukkah — not Christmas.
8. Natalie Portman
The Jerusalem-born actress was raised Jewish and does not celebrate Yuletide.
9. Jake Gyllenhaal
The Brokeback Mountain star, who was born to a Jewish family, does not partake in Christmas festivities.
10. Adam Sandler
The Big Daddy actor is Jewish and does not recognize Christmas.
